Whew! Okay. This book is actually listed inside the books, as the 2nd book in the series. I read it out of sequence by mistake, but was still able to follow the story.I can't believe I never heard of these books before.. This one is a very sensual, erotic, romantic, & suspenseful story. Which has an interesting and refreshing take on shifters and their world. It has a bit of a futuristic/sci-fi tone, but not too much. I really liked this one. And all of the characters were well written. It
3-1/2 star rating, really.I didn't get from the summary that this was a mystical story; I'm not usually drawn to those as such. But I enjoyed this very much. On the positive side, the characters were intriguing. They, especially Gian, could have come off as cartoonish, but the author used a very light hand, and the elements of the story that could have come off as annoying, such as Familiars such as Gian being so sensory-based, worked here. For the most part.I could buy that his senses and his

It kinda reminded me of Nalini Singh's Psy-Changeling series, because of the cats shapeshifters + their playfulness and sensuality. Since this book is part of a series, I guess the plot continues from the previous books (Disclaimer: I have not read any books in this series) and it left me a little lost at times. I didn't appreciate the multiple POVs (POVs other than the H & h) as I didn't know and wasn't interested in the other characters. Also, I felt that it wasn't right of the H to (view
This was the first Dara Joy book I spotted at the Lifeline Bookfair because that of that cover. Oh my.I love how unabashedly bananas these books are. Theyre like Star Wars on crack with Jedi that are less sexually frustrated. But theyre just so darn earnest and fun.Sadly, it looks like this series kind of hit the wall, with some low rated self published follow ups that are light on lead characters from the first three. The next bookfair is a couple of weeks away and Im hoping there will be more
The romance was sexy and steamy. Kinda cheesy (might've been the narration with the accents) but in a good way. Plus, sexy shape-shifting cat man! The rest of the story, with other characters including a Yoda-like mentor to another shape shifter, was just plain cheesy and meh. Again, may have been the narration with the creaky Yoda accent, but I just tuned out on those parts.

In a galaxy far, far away, beautiful Jenise will do anything to escape marriage to her late stepfather's evil brother, Karpon. When she discovers that Karpon has captured a powerful shapechanger, Gian Ren, she decides to make him an offer he can't refuse. Gian Ren has been drugged, stripped, and chained to a wall. Despite his circumstances, Jenise is wary, for even chained the shapechanger is formidable. Surprisingly, he accepts her unusual request that he deflower her in exchange for her aid in escaping. Gian passionately accomplishes his part of the bargain and within moments, the two set off on a perilous journey, fleeing from Karpon and his soldiers. Mine to Take has action, adventure, and enough steamy sensuality to light up the night sky. H-O-T!Present Books In Favor Of Mine to Take (Matrix of Destiny #3)
