Very informative as far as how to perform every movement but the routines will not work for a drug free body builder there is far too much volume.Overall the book is helpful if you want to learn the basics of weight lifting compound movements, isolation movements, sets and reps but you will never look like the enhanced lifters in this book unless you take steroidsHands down the greatest book out there for bodybuilders from any skill level, and any walk of life.
The New Encyclopedia of Modern Bodybuilding by Arnold Schwarzenegger was written in 1992. This is not a comedy or an action book; this book falls into its own category, bodybuilding. As most of you know, Arnold was a professinal bodybuilder and was the first well known bodybuilder. Due to this, this is his only book. There are no sequels, rising action, or climax. Just strictly bodybuilding. This is not a novel that you can read in a few weeks. The New Encyclopedia of Modern Bodybuilding is over

- amazing introduction into the history and modern bodybuilding- first-hand personal experience of one of the greatest bodybuilders of all time- I felt that the book did not dedicate enough time to focus on the individual exercises and diet plans- as a whole, the book could have pointed out more controversies in bodybuilding as well as what the negative sides of the sports are (besides illegal substance abuse)
Wow. The Governator really shows his depth of experience here. This book is a master course on the human body, physical fitness, diet, nutrition, and of course bodybuilding. However, even people who are not interested in bodybuilding will get a lot out of this book. It gives you the tools you need to reach the peak of your bodies potential. By far one of the most complete books on health and fitness I have ever read.
This is the ultimate guide to classic bodybuilding. I read this 2 years ago and still refer back to it. It only took me a few days to read the entire encyclopedia.Nothing captures the essence of what bodybuilding is about quite like this book. I would 100% recommend this to anyone with an interest in bodybuilding or even just weight training.
There is so much to say about this book. Most of my Goodreads followers dont know this, but Im into weightlifting. I dont have the Arnold body type at all, but Id say Im somewhat fit, maybe more the Bruce Lee type without the martial arts background. Im not into lifting because of sports, looks, or because its trendy. It doesnt matter why you are into lifting as long as you have a good reason. My reason is solely based on poor health as a teenager. I have something called cyclic vomiting
