Chapter 1 lost me when the heroine (average civilian type, not asskicking warrior variety) was attacked with intent to kill, was rescued by the hero, and then just picked up her purse and went home instead of calling the police to let them know there was a psychopath running around attacking women. Reminiscent of my first and last experience with Feehan, wherein I spent the entire book hoping the irresponsible, braindead heroine would die. Learned my lesson that time. They don't get smarter.
