This book was a really good but sad book. It always had me at the edge of my seat. It took place when the Salem witch trails where happening. Abigail was the main character in this story. Abigail got in trouble at the start of the story for running with her skirt up. Later in the story people started getting accused of being witches. Including Abigails aunt Elizabeth. Abigail and her sister Dorthy where later accused and had to go to jail. Thats where their aunt died and they where stuck in
This book is about a 10 year old girl that has a good life until a tragedy happened. Witches were discovered in Salem. Innocent people are being accused then later Abby is accused and has to accuse her mom to get out of jail. I liked that this book has brave people in it to make it interesting. I did not like that the book was very slow to get interesting.

This book was really good. Once I started [again, after having misplaced it], I couldn't put it down. The characters were relatable and the story was captivating. I wanted to know what happened next. I needed to know what happened to them.I didn't like where it ended, but it was good nonetheless.(view spoiler)[I hate Sarah Phelps! And so will you when you read this book. (hide spoiler)]
Yikes. This is not a fun book. I suppose it's a worthy interpretation of the times, because this really was a horribly dark time in history for some. This is the only reason I'm not rating it one star, though, because I didn't enjoy it at all.
We have all heard the stories of the Salem Witch Trials. Few of us are aware of the fact that Andover, Massachusetts had more people accused of being a witch than in Salem. This Historical Fiction novel is the story of one such family. Based on facts discovered about the authors own family it is the story of Abigail and her sister Dorothy who find themselves accused of being witches. Abigails character in the book is seen as being wild by Puritan standards. The story starts and we find her
The book The Sacrifice by Kathleen Benner Duble is a great book with a lot of memory moments and tough questions. I would recommend this book to anyone who wants to read about puritan life.

In the year 1692, life changes forever for ten-year-old Abigail Faulkner and her family. In Salem, Massachusetts, witches have been found, and widespread fear and panic reign mere miles from Abigail's home of Andover. When two girls are brought from Salem to identify witches in Andover, suspicion sweeps the town as well-respected members of the community are accused of witchcraft. It isn't long before chaos consumes Andover, and the Faulkners find themselves in the center of it all when friend turns themselves in the center of it all when friend turns against friend, neighbor against neighbor, in a desperate fight for the truth. At the heart of this gripping story are Abigail and her sister, Dorothy, who together must find a way to persevere during a period marked by terror, adversity, and ignorance.Told from Abigail's point of view and based on actual events in the author's own family histoy, "The Sacrifice" offers a unique perspective of the Salem witch trials by delving into the devestating effects the trials had not just in Salem but throughout Massachusetts.Present Appertaining To Books The Sacrifice

Inspired by her family history, Ms. Duble spins a tale of when the witch-craze expands beyond Salem to Andover. Abigail and her sister Dorothy are accused of being witches, as is her aunt. It shows the hysteria and disbelief many were feeling and the helplessness to fight for their innocence. For her sister and her to survive, they must falsely accuse another...I read this in less than a dayThis book was a really good but sad book. It always had me at the edge of my seat.
