Book 2 in the Patroness Series:Maiwenn Cadic has her hands full.
The Turn is a few weeks ahead and the world seems to be literally coming apart at the seams - natural disasters and weird phenomena keep everyone on edge. An unusually high number of missing persons is thought to be just another side effect but is making Maiwenn nervous.
When all fingers point to the Queen of the Undead, Maiwenn is once again forced to join forces with Kylian, new leader of the Paris shapeshifter pack.
Sharp-tongued and sharp-fanged conflicts follow...

like itI'm a German-born author suffering from itchy feet which recently carried me to South Africa. Much like my beloved travel bug, my love for words has always been there, but is thankfully a lot easier to satisfy. When I'm not off wandering my own imaginary worlds, I love to curl up on the couch and get lost in a good book.Though I guess in the end books are just another form of traveling, seeing
The Hunt is On improves on a lot of my criticisms of Blue Moon Rising, but I still think this book needs another round of editing - possibly in terms of big picture editing. The Hunt is On accomplishes a few things on the writing level that Blue Moon Rising did not. There were less unnecessary tangents that slowed the plot in this book and Kylian and Maiwenn's relationship instantly takes off and draws the reader in. first of all: I love the cover!as for the rest: I love the characters and the story...and I was stunned to learn that English isn't even the author's first language!
Well this one was MUCH better than the first one. Apparently there is now a good editor in the mix or something because there were very few awkward sentences and I was able to be more more into the story. The characters still need to be developed more fully and there could be a lot more action and less talking and sightseeing, but the story was creative. I plan to read the next in the series.
Maiwenn is the Patroness - the woman who polices the paranormal residents in Paris, and makes sure they are living peacefully alongside humans. Which works most of the time. But now people are disappearing all over Paris, and everything points to a supernatural cause.I confess that I started to read this book before I realised that it was the second in the series. But I can safely say that it holds its own. There was enough in it that I didn't feel lost, but with just enough questions raised
** Warning: This review will contain spoilers!! **In book two with the Patroness of Paris, we follow Maiwenn as she tries to unravel the mystery of people going missing throughout the city. The dreaded Turn is at their doorstep and Maiwenn is determined to keep the city safe despite leaked magic wreaking havoc. And shes certainly got her hands full because now Kylian is 100% back in the picture, along with the whole motley crew of vampires, demons, and shape shifters.I enjoyed this book, but can
